Group Fitness Classes
A low impact class which incorporates weight resistance training, improving cardiovascular fitness, bone density, muscle strength and muscle tone.
A low-impact class that offers a variety of exercises designed and conducted in a controlled environment under the management of a highly skilled trainer, the class focuses on exercises to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. It is a great class for seniors and for people who have a chronic illness.
Adrenaline HIT is a high-intensity interval training program designed for everyone. These small group training sessions utilise our functional training and outdoor areas, where participants will get to learn new exercises and use state-of-the-art equipment under guidance from our qualified Adrenaline HIT coaches demonstrating correct technique. This program is an additional paid service to a standard membership.
Is a classic old-school workout that will keep you moving and grooving, with a banging retro playlist and an iconic ‘freestyle’ format straight out of the 80’s. It’s watch-and-follow, no previous experience is necessary, and low impact options will be given where required. This class is open to all levels, however it can be challenging for people with no movement experience. It’s the best place to start if you love a good sweat and you really want to up your cardio!
Combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. Our Barre classes incorporate a ballet barre and use classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. Barre focuses on high reps of small range movements and will help you build and strengthen your muscles, improve your core strength and posture.
A Les Mills choreographed sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises.
A Les Mills pre choreographed class that combines Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates techniques to build flexibility and strength, leaving you feeling centred and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music to create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.
The cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. An addictive fusion of the latest dance styles and hottest new sounds puts the emphasis as much on having fun as breaking a sweat.
A Les Mills pre-choreographed class – the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight exercises with great music and awesome instructors inspiring you to get the best results and fast.
Cardio boxing uses a combination of shadowboxing and/or hitting the bag with continuous cardio movements such as high knees, burpees, push-ups that will increase your strength and teach you to control your heart rate.
An all-inclusive program that uses a chair to bring the benefits of yoga to a much bigger proportion of the population. It's aimed at those that may have reduced physical capabilities, joint challenges, lack of mobility, recovering from illness or accidents, or other physical issues.
A form of body conditioning using endurance and resistance training. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. The core objective of circuit training is to increase muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and coordination. As the intensity of the workout is based on the participant, it can accommodate the beginner to the advanced and burn a high amount of calories accordingly
A total body workout combining free weights and fitball to enhance deep core control and muscle strength. Targeting not only the core but isolating muscle groups throughout the class. A great workout
Get active with your kids as part of family Zumba. A high energy aerobic class designed to get both the grown ups and the kids moving. Classes are suitable for adults of any age, and children aged between four and 12 years.
A dynamic workout that hones in on your abs, glutes, back and obliques. This is the ultimate way to get a tight and toned core.
Specifically for patrons who require rehabilitation. The class is conducted in a controlled environment under the management of a highly skilled trainer who provides supervision, help with technique, form, variation and progression for exercises. Prior to starting, patrons would receive a face to face session with our trainer to obtain a personalized program for the class.
A weight training program focusing on improving muscle strength, flexibility and balance. This program is endorsed by the Council on the Ageing.
Pilates will assist in strengthening your core and improving your flexibility, by focusing exercises on correct body alignment, breathing, lengthening and strengthening your muscles. Due to the nature of this class and the focus on core strength this class is not suitable for pregnant women.
Queer friendly fitness classes provide a safe, welcoming, space to exercise that is free of expectations, enabling you to relax and have fun. Brunswick Baths is a trans and queer friendly gym and our goal is to make fitness more accessible for the LGBTQ+ community. Come along to improve your fitness or simply connect with community. Be your authentic self. Choose from two different QFIT classes, strength, and high intensity training.
A Les Mills pre-choreographed stationery cycling class that will be similar at every centre you go to. Great for shaping and toning your lower body while improving your fitness.
Tabata is a type of training that involves repeated bouts of high intensity effort followed by varied recovery times. A complete physical activity program that includes aerobic exercise and strength training.
A unique combination of gentle and easy to follow movements, stretches, mindfullness, breath and relaxation. It improves the functioning of virtually all of the systems of the body.
A class which uses the ViPR training tool to bridge the gap between movement and strength. The ViPR tool combines a traditional resistance workout together with the physical agility needed for an optimal sports or fitness performance, easily making the ViPR the most innovative fitness breakthrough in years.
Yoga is a flexibility and strength building class that focuses on breathing techniques, physical flowing movement, postures and meditation exercises intended to integrate body, mind, and spirit. You'll leave the class feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and centred. Regular yoga practice is said to increase overall physical and mental health.
Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. It's a combination of fitness and dance moves on swinging Latin music. It's easy to do, fun, and before you know it, you’re getting fit and your energy levels are soaring.
Water workout classes
A low impact water exercise class designed to increase mobility and improve cardiovascular fitness with minimal stress on the joints. Specially designed for people over 50 years of age, but all welcome.
Incorporating deep and shallow water running with intense interval work. A great cross training class.
- Must be 16 years of age and over (unless an Active Youth member).
- Bring a towel and drink bottle.
- Wear appropriate gym attire / swimming costume and goggles that you can move freely in.
- Arrive at the scheduled class time. Arrivals later than five minutes will not be permitted to enter the class.
- Class sizes are limited, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
- We recommend you check with your doctor before starting any group fitness classes.
- Please inform your instructor prior to the class beginning if you are pregnant, have any injuries or medical conditions.
